Kind Local provides informal ESOL classes in Preston, Leyland and Chorley, and helps resettlers learn and improve their English, integrate into their local communities and socialise.
Our classes and workshops and workshops are held at community venues in Preston, Leyland and Chorley.

ENGLISH CLASSES
Our ESOL classes are designed to help learners improve their English, better navigate life situations and successfully enter employment and volunteering opportunities.
TEST PREPARATION
- B1 English Test Preparation- Prepare for the B1 English test by practising your Speaking and Listening skills
- Life in the UK Test Preparation- Prepare for the Life in the UK test with us
- Driving Theory Test Preparation- Prepare for your Driving Theory test by learning safe driving skills and all about hazard perception.
- Level 2 Food Safety Course Test Preparation- Prepare for your Level 2 Food Safety test by learning about food safety and hygiene.
ENGLISH FOR EMPLOYMENT/ VOLUNTEERING PURPOSES
- Functional English- understand and practice reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to navigate everyday life situations.
- English for Job Applications- master CV writing and writing job applications to get the job you want.
- English for Effective Volunteering- learn what it means to be a good volunteer, and make the most of your volunteering experience.
- English for Interviews- understand what the interview is looking for, and prepare to answer interview questions to help get the job you want.
- English for Care Work- learn the key concepts and vocabulary associated with care work, to make you a more effective care sector employee
- English for Catering Sector Work- learn the key concepts and vocabulary associated with catering work, to make you a more effective catering sector employee.
INFORMAL ENGLISH
- Conversational English- practise your speaking and listening skills to better communicate in English and understand local dialect and accents.
- Cooking with English- practical and fun workshop to cook a delicious dish while speaking and reading English.
- Crafting with English- practical and fun workshop to sew and create while speaking and reading English.

Kind Local aims to bring resettler and local communities together.
Kind Local has the simple aim of providing a social hub, where resettler women can socialise, learn, exercise and eat together. No matter who you are or your background. Everyone is welcome.
Kind Local is based at the Catherine Beckett Centre, Deepdale PR1 5AR every Wednesday between 9.30am- 12.30pm.
Kind Local Leyland is based at Halls 4 All, Moss Lane, Leyland PR25 4XA every Thursday between 9.30am- 1pm.
